A Return to What’s Real

Humble Human Goods & Gatherings is for people who long for food they can trust, goods made with care, natural practices, and simple skills passed from generations past to hands willing to learn them again. It is a return to real food, real goods, and real connection — not as nostalgia, but as a way back to a life that feels more whole.

What We’re Raising, Making & Sharing

Chickens & Fresh Eggs

Our eggs come from free-range chickens raised with organic and all-natural practices. Their yolks are a rich orange color — not the pale yellow many people are used to from grocery store eggs — because our hens have access to a more varied, natural diet.We are expanding our flock so more local families can enjoy eggs that look, taste, and feel closer to the way food was meant to be.

Bourbon Red Turkeys

We breed Bourbon Red Turkeys, a heritage breed known for rich flavor, calm temperament, and old-fashioned table quality — the kind of turkey prized by top chefs for a more memorable holiday meal.Unlike fast-growing commercial birds, Bourbon Reds are chosen for taste, tradition, and the kind of careful raising that makes the meal feel meaningful again. This breed is currently listed as “Watch” by The Livestock Conservancy, and to our knowledge, we are the only Bourbon Red Turkey breeder in southwest Ohio.We expect to have only a few Thanksgiving turkeys available in 2026, with a larger expansion planned for 2027.

Idaho Pasture Pigs (IPP’s)

We breed Idaho Pasture Pigs, a premium pasture-friendly breed often called a “red meat pig” because the pork is darker, richer, and more flavorful than typical commercial pork. As a small farm operation, we produce only two litters of piglets each year, which means our pork is intentionally limited and available as pigs are ready for processing. All pork is USDA-processed and, when available, may be sold as individual cuts or by whole or half hog, priced by hanging weight plus processing costs. We also offer piglets and a few limited pig boarding spots for families who want their own pork piglet raised out but do not have the land to do it themselves. If pork is not currently available, contact us to ask about details or join the wait list.

Fainting Goats (Myotonic Goats)

Our Myotonic goats, often called fainting goats, are still young and growing into their role on the farm. This breed is known for its gentle nature, sturdy build, and wonderfully memorable personality. We expect baby goats in spring 2027, with future goat milk products planned as this part of HHGG grows.

Handmade Goods & Homestead Staples

HHGG also includes the work of our hands: apothecary goods, natural soaps and lotions, baked goods, candles, and handmade wooden pieces. Our apothecary goods are rooted in old herbal remedies and Appalachian-style home medicine — salves, tinctures, and simple preparations made with plants, tradition, and practical everyday care in mind. Our soaps and lotions are made with natural ingredients like tallow and goat milk, creating simple body care that feels closer to the way things used to be made. Our baked goods may include sourdough, fresh breads, banana bread, hand-rolled soft pretzels, muffins, cookies, brownies, and other homestead favorites. Our wooden goods include handmade gifts, home decor, and useful everyday pieces crafted by a lifelong professional carpenter. Custom orders are welcome.

Follow Our Journey!

We’re building Humble Human Goods & Gatherings on 1.5 acres in Preble County, Ohio — one fence post, muddy boot, animal snuggle, project fail, and hard-won lesson at a time. (Plans for more land in the future too!)Follow along for the real story: the animals we love, the infrastructure we’re building, the products we’re learning to make, the laughs we probably shouldn’t post but do anyway, and the honest highs and lows of building a homestead life from the ground up.Our offerings are available online as they become ready, with hopes of eventually opening a small shop in the Centerville/Kettering area — God willing.Every animal here has a name, a personality, and a place in the story. We believe animals raised for food still deserve a life full of care, respect, sunshine, good food, and human hands they trust.
